WASHINGTON:

Now offered is the Washington State Competitiveness Fund, with rebates of up to
20% of in-state film related expenditures. There is a $1 million cap per
production, with a total of $3.5 million available. The spending threshold is
$500,000 for feature films, $300,000 for television productions and $250,000 for
commercials. Sales and use tax will be waived for rental equipment and purchase
of services and vehicles used in production. Production will be exempt from the
hotel/motel tax with a stay of 30 consecutive days.
Washington offers a unique Indie Vendor deal for productions with budgets
between $500,000 and $3 million: 30 - 70% off below-the-line costs from
participating vendors.

 Washington offers a state sales tax exemption on rental equipment and the purchase of services.
There is no state income tax. Production companies can receive a refund on local, state, and special use taxes on rental vehicles used in production.
There is also a lodging tax exemption available for stays of 30 or more consecutive days. The production must contract the stay before arrival.
